Pure Craziness

Just so you all know Hna. Morante is my 7th companion and I’ve never had a companion that is so crazy. I mean that in a good way. I forgot to tell you last week, but 2 mondays ago she pierced my ears with a needle. We put some ice against my ear until I couldn’t feel it very well and then she just stuck that thing in there. It hurt a little bit, but not too bad. So now I’ve got earrings. 🙂 I’ll attach some photos down below.

So I’ve been thinking a bit about self-sufficiency. I am not self-sufficient. At least not in a very good way. For food I have the habit of eating fruit cereal and toast, because I don’t have to do anything to prepare those. I don’t like using the oven or anything that has to do with cooking basically. My opposite in that would be my companion who when she’s hungry makes a pot of soup with noodles, or rice with chicken or things like that. She seems to have more energy than me. I think I’m going to be trying to work on that. If anybody wants to send me recipes for easy but healthy food that take less than 30 minutes to cook I would be most grateful.
Just so you know, we have a Haitian investigator who’s name is Calerbe (Pronounced Caleb) who has a baptismal date for this upcoming Saturday. He’s 30 years old and has long hair done up as dreadlocks. 🙂 He came to Chile for new opportunities and left his girlfriend and their son in Haiti, but he’s trying to work so he can bring them here as well. We met him in the park a few weeks back, and in that first visit he accepted a baptismal challenge for the 27th of January. He told us that God had blessed and helped him so much and that he knew that God wanted to help him bring the rest of his family here to chile so they can be together. Since then we’ve been teaching him little by little and the members have been so great with him and the other Haitians that they talk to them and be there friends in every way possible. One of the members helped find work for 2 or 3 of them and is continuing to look for the rest that still don’t have work. I feel very inspired to do whatever I can to help people in rough situations when I get back to the states, cuz people in rough situations tend to be a lot more humble and accepting. Not to mention they are very loyal friends.
Please continue to serve and love those around you. 🙂
