Arauco

This week went well. Not too much happened but we’re working on getting a good groove and we had a crazy lesson with Martin. So, basically his dad is a little difficult and he distracts the theme of the lesson a lot and I lost my cool and started bashing with him a little. Then as I was getting kind of chata and trying to shut up so that I wouldn’t impede the spirit anymore Hna. Horton did the coolest thing. She allowed a small pause and said I have a question for you guys. “Martin would you like to get baptized?” He said, “Yes!” (During the confusion of the lesson he had shared his testimony with his parents) Then she asked his parents if that was ok with them and they were both like yeah that’s fine if it’s really what he wants to do. It was amazing how strong the spirit was. Before we left I wanted to fix my mistakes so I told them I was sorry and they were kind of like “What? No it’s totally fine no se preocupe!” They were honestly amazing. Since then Martin came to church and when we dropped him off at home his dad showed off his parakeets to us. It’s kind of funny but sometimes the most difficult seeming people are actually pretty amazing.

House Time

So, my compi got sick and we got stuck in the house again for a couple of days. I’m thinking God’s giving me a great opportunity to learn some extra stuff with personal study which is pretty great cuz I always feel like I don’t have enough time to learn. Stinks that Hna. Horton had to be sick though. 🙁 We also had a surprise house inspection which was a little crazy and took about 2-3 hours because the elders in the office were teaching a new service missionary couple how to do inspections. They seem like they’ll be a lot more thorough than the elders which seems like a good thing, but it’ll be a little harder for us. 😉 I don’t have lots of time today, but I sent some pictures of this weird weaving thing I did this morning to dad so if anybody wants to see it they can ask him for that. I think he can forward it. Love you all tons and I’ll try to write more next week. :b

Transfers?!

So, we had transfers. I’ve only been in Cabrero for 6 weeks (or 1 transfer) but God told President May that he needs me in Arauco now. So today I arrived in my new sector. It’s kind of funny but the kitchen seems really fancy to me because the oven is electrical and it has degrees on the knob to change the heat! It’s crazy! We have lots of cupboard space and everything. I might take some pictures and send them next week, but any who, my new companion is Sister Horton from Sandy Utah. She is Senior comp. and I am Junior comp. It’s a little interesting because she has 11 months in the mission and I have almost 15 not to mention I’ve been senior comp my whole mission (minus my training) and this is her first time, but I think that’s just further proof that God knows more than us and every transfer is inspired. I’m really excited because my companion seems really cool and I think she’s going to help me work like crazy. Sadly we will probably only get 1 transfer together because this is already her 4th transfer in this area, so we’ll have to use our time well. 🙂 I don’t have a whole lot to say this week, but I love you guys a ton and I’m going to upload photos of members and stuff from Cabrero as well as one of Sister Horton and I. Take Care!

Great Week

This week was pretty great. We ended up finding various inactive members, we had some really inspiring lessons using the scriptures and hymns and such. 5-6 inactive or less-active members came to church as well as the 4 investigators that we had. 1 of the less-active members actually ended up committing to pay her tithing again! (We didn’t bring up that topic, she did) It was pretty amazing! We didn’t find any new investigators but we did get a lesson with an old lost investigator and we’re going to continue working harder and harder every day as we learn more and more and become more capable. 🙂
