I get to kill Hna. Peña! WOOHOO! Just so you know that doesn’t mean anything negative it means that I’ll be sending her home at the end of this cambio that we’re starting because she’s reaching the end of her mission. I was really hoping that would happen and that I wouldn’t be training because I just finished my training. I’m officially a missionary! It’s kind of weird and kind of the same, but I’m going to miss watching the district.
We haven’t had the greatest success the last few weeks. At least not the visible kind, but just this week we got 3 new investigators all women and prettymuch all golden. One, Cheryl is our neighbor and she’s 25 and married, which is a miracle in and of itself, but she’s also accepted the baptismal challenge we just didn’t put a date. The second is Carmen who also accepted the baptismal challenge she’s about 50 I think, but she has 5 kids and a husband with whom she’s separated and she’s now living with her boyfriend who she wants to marry, because her husbands not so great from what I understand, but she’s afraid to ask him to divorce because she has some land in the country and she knows that he wants it so he won’t agree to get divorced because the land will automatically go to her. So that’s going to be an interesting challenge. Hopefully we can help her out. The third is Angela who’s a 19 year old single mother and has tattoos on her lips, but she also accepted the baptismal challenge and really has a hunger for the truth. We’re really excited, and I know this will be a great cambio. Sometimes we need to endure a bit before we can taste success. Hna. May, the president’s wife served an entire mission in Spain without getting a single baptism but she’s the coolest person ever, she returned to her mission a few years ago and the branch that she served in for a lot of her mission is now a huge ward with a chapel and everything, and I know that even though sometimes we don’t know why we have hard times or we can’t see the good that happens if we continue forward doing good continually good things will follow, we just need to focus on the small things that bring us joy.
