Influenza

The Beautiful world-

So, I have never had a sick day on my mission…. until now! Tuesday AKA my last day in Moses Lake, Hermana Larson scratched her cornea because she  freaked out about dropping an eyelash in her eye. She also can’t just sit with one eye closed, she has to close both of them. So I was leading her around like a blind person, until it wasn’t bearable and we went home. Then I got her to Umatilla and my new comp  Hermana Jackson has the flu.
It’s been crazy and I’ll tell you right now there is not a whole lot  you can do to entertain yourself as a missionary. So I have gotten to know my companion really well. The bright side is she is LEGIT. We are havin’ a blast.
Yesterday we got to go to church. Turns out I’ll probably have to translate every single week.:O 😛 :S Hermana Jackson doesn’t think she has the vocab to do it, and our ward mission leader sounds like a massive gringo. He is really nice though 🙂 We also taught two lessons and had dinner. I thought I had died and gone to heaven to do real missionary work again. You don’t know how awesome it is until you are stuck in an apartment for like 5 days straight.
What is your new area like?

Well.. Not entirely sure. It’s Oregon so we don’t have sales tax and they fill up your gas for you. It’s kinda like a really small town again.. With lots of mexicans. So just about like my other areas except for Moses lake.

Tell us a little about your companion.  How old is she?  Where is she from?  Family? Her name is Hermana Jackson from Utah. She is the oldest of three, except she has like six older half siblings. so she is also the seventh of nine. 🙂 She is 21 yrs old. She wears hipster glasses and is skinny tiny bity.  I like her.

How are you liking being a regular missionary?

Haven’t really gotten there yet.. but I’ll let you know!
Did you come into your new area with some investigators already in place?  If so, tell us a little about them.
One investigator who is awesome is named Jorge. He is trying to quit smoking. he loves the gospel so much, and reads the BOM like every day. We had a lesson yesterday where he picked feb 22 for his date of baptism. We then kneeled down to pray… even though he is like in a ton of pain because he got his pelvis crushed at work.  yikes! he is sooo cool.

Are you in an apartment, living with a family, or some other arrangement?

Apartment, and we rearranged it on one of our sick days and actually made it look pretty decent and a lot more homey than when I first arrived.

Love you all, glad things are going well. Tell Dad to wait for me to get back before ya’ll move.

love,
Hermana Holladay
