Semana 4!

Holahola!

I can’t believe I only have 2 weeks left in this cambio. Time flies when you’re doing the Lord’s work. So I´m going to be honest, these weeks have been a little rough. We have 9 investigators/investigator families and so far not a single one of them is progressing. A couple are completing their commitments but they aren’t going to church, so basically me and Hna. Clark feel like we’re running in circles and not accomplishing anything, so this week we are going to kill test pretty much all of our investigators which means we’re going to politely threaten to drop them and see if that motivates them to start going if not next week we’re going to start from scratch.

We have about 100 papers full of about 40 future investigators each (futures are people who have been contacted and not taught but showed interest). so we have plenty to do for our last 2 weeks of this cambio. Hopefully we accomplish a lot, but if there’s anything I’ve learned in the last 4 weeks it’s that “Numbers don’t mean a thing” (Elder Rogers in The Best 2 Years) as long as you do your best something good will happen. My something good from this week is that Millaray (who really wants to get baptized) after seeing Fernanda (The other sisters investigator) get baptized on Saturday, with the help of her inactive father got her mom’s permission to get baptized. The only downside is that Sunday was father’s day and her family had plans so she didn’t come to church, but we’ll just make a later date and move forward. Also I’m amazed by how smart God is. I know that sounds silly, but honestly I suck at being a missionary and he still makes it work. I love the mission because I get to notice the daily miracles that we all receive.
By the way everyday I get to study from this booklet “12 weeks” which is training for all of the greenies and the last few days I’ve been learning about the importance of members in missionary work. Be warned I’m about to attempt to guilt trip you.
Do you believe in the plan of salvation?
If yes you should have the desire to share that happiness with others. If not pray and listen and you will believe.
Please become familiar with the non-members around you. Be their friends and look for and pray for opportunities to share the gospel with them. You can also look for opportunities to introduce them to the missionaries like through service for them that the missionaries can do or fun church activities. You can share a meal with both parties. By the way this will all be easier if you know the missionaries personally. LDS Tools has their numbers and you can ask them and your bishop for more ideas on how you can help, so please do something because the lord needs you and it doesn´t matter how busy you are you can sacrifice 5 minutes to help the work progress by talking to your neighbor.
