This week we recommitted Nelly to not smoke and heart attacked her door with motivational stuff. She kept everything there and said it would help her to remember as she tries to leave the house to buy cigarettes cuz they never keep cigarettes in their house. We were going to cook them breakfast and bring them to church but they ended up taking Joaquin their 4 year old to the hospital the night before and they didn’t get to bed til really late (or really early not sure). They slept in until 12. We visited them in the afternoon though and Joaquin will be ok he just had a weird reaction from being too nervous. They gave him some medicine and he’s doing better. We’ll probably take them to church next week.
I’ve been learning a ton about the scriptures and marking them bit by bit. Hopefully one day I’ll be able to actually use them well to teach others. Something that I love about the mission is how much I get to learn and change. I determined when I arrived that I wouldn’t go back home the same and I’m still currently working on that.

I love P-day’s cuz we get to take naps if we have time and it’s honestly nice just to change up the routine a little. Normally we use the computers for an hour go shopping and do something fun for lunch.
Hna. Gourly will be completing 6 months in the mission on the 14th. We usually celebrate birthdays in the mission but instead of once a year it’s every month. It’s kind of fun but also a little rough cuz time flies. I can’t believe that I’ve already passed 7 months. In February I’ll be halfway through my mission and everybody says it speeds up at that point. I’m not sure if that’s true for me because it’s already going ridiculously fast.
Here in the summer it’s super hot and it doesn’t rain. The ozone layer or something like that is thinner above chile so it gets really hot and people burn really easy. It’s also kind of funny cuz here in chile they don’t have a word for tanning. I don’t burn in the sun I usually just get tanner, but the people here are always telling me “Holy Crap You’re burning up you need to get out of the sun” We usually respond with “Yeah po, We’re preaching the gospel and changing lives, who cares if we get tan!” (Secretly we’re enjoying being tan cuz that’s a good thing in the US).
Fruit in Chile is super cheap and usually really good, they don’t have much of tropical fruit, but plenty of bananas and apples and some weird stuff that I don’t know what it’s called.
