I’ve now finished half of my mission, timewise anyway. It’s a little weird cuz it feels like i got here yesterday and I’m going home tomorrow. I love you guys all a ton and want to be with you, but at the same time I still have so much to learn and do here. I’m grateful that I still have 9 months left. Sorry for the trunkiness. 🙂
So this week we retaught the restauration to Calerbe and invited him to pray about Joseph Smith, cuz as it turns out he still doesn’t know for sure if he was a prophet. He really likes the story and everything, but he wants to know if it’s true so we invited him to read Joseph Smith’s testimony at the beginning of the book and I realized I’VE NEVER READ THAT PART! I’m probably the worst missionary ever but oh well. Gotta just keep moving forward no mas. 🙂 I’ll be reading that at some point in the next few days. We weren’t able to teach Maxen last week, but we’ll be trying to get on top of that this week, cuz he needs the lessons.
On sunday we had testimony meeting, and all of the youth had just gotten back from EFY so a bunch of them were bearing their testimonies and crying and everything. I realized something as I remembered all of the times that I participated in the activities that the church offers for youth. The best environment to feel the spirit and learn and grow is an environment of love. (Usually a family) I then realized that a ward or branch has the ability to create that environment, but it requires that the members love one another and serve and worry about one another. So I’m going to be trying to help the ward here in Cautin to do that, and I hope that you guys do the same over there in Utah, cuz I think we can all improve on that one.
