This week was pretty good. Maxen passed the sacrament on Sunday and he
just keeps on impressing the members. Also this Sunday we had so many
members and investigators at church it was kind of crazy. To make it
even cooler we had a new senior couple that will be moving into the
ward in the next month I think and they came to check it out. They’re
super nice and they should make a good addition to the ward. We also
had the primary program and God blessed us so that we ended up having
about 6 kids instead of only one!
On top of all that we now have 4 baptismal dates and I think that at
least 2 of them will for sure make it and the other 2 have good
chances. We’re going to be working super hard over the next 2 weeks.
I’ve been getting a little better at contacting and I think we’re
making a good imprint here in Cautín so hopefully we can do everything
we can and the members can feel the motivation and it’ll spread a
little. It already seems like it is. We’re actually preparing a ward
talent show and everybody is super excited!
So, as for the baptismal dates. The first one you all already knew
about is Alvaro. He’s still living with Daniela, but we’re working on
that. They said that they actually want to get married but in November
of the next year. (Thats a year and a half from now!) Hopefully they
can manage before that or he can find a good super cheap apartment.
They both came to Church on Sunday with her 3 sons and his son as
well. (They sang in the Primary program) The second investigator is
Ricardo and he really is amazing and he seems ready to get baptized,
the only issue is his mom who has spoken to many missionaries about
him getting baptized and always says no. We’ve decided to pray a ton
and we’ve given him several challenges to begin making some changes in
his life so that little by little his mom will see that this will be a
good thing for him. The third investigator is Carline who is Haitian
and she’s super great! Sadly she is living with her boyfriend but
she’s super willing to try to do things right so we’ll see if we can
help her get there. The fourth investigator is Mariela and she is the
most Golden investigator that I’ve seen in a while! We visited her
with Hna. May (The mission presidents wife) as our fourth witness.
(Obviously the Holy Ghost is first and me and Hna. Ellis 2nd and 3rd)
She is very ready for baptism and she has such great questions!
every time we visit her I feel super excited! It’s great to see the
mission progressing here in Cautín.
I’m honestly very grateful that I’ve been able to stay in Cautín for
so much time and that I could work with Hna. Ellis for 3 cambios as
well. I can’t believe how time really does fly. Everybody tells me
that it goes faster and faster once you hit the 9 months mark and then
even more at 12 months, but I honestly think it flew from the very
beginning. I’m going to continue to take advantage of this great
opportunity that God has given me to learn and grow and help my
brothers and sisters here in Chile.
