Hola Familia!
Not much to report this week. Mostly we just worked at the Easter Pageant. I finally took some pictures for you but I forgot to bring the cord for the camera. Fail. We did have a couple of investigators come to the Easter Pageant which was really cool. Ana came with a lady in the ward, and Daniela came with our ward mission leader’s wife and her two daughters. Ana is getting baptized this Saturday 🙂 She’s really excited about it and we made sure to give her invitations so she can invite her friends and family. Please pray for us and her, because we still need to teach her all the commandments besides the word of wisdom :O
In other news Julio got baptized on Saturday. It was a very odd baptism. He was 15 minutes late. It will be interesting to hear from Hna Falcon what happened with his confirmation yesterday.
I was able to see lots of people from Mesagrande this weekend between Julio’s baptism, the Easter pageant, and the primary kids coming to see a movie at the vc on Saturday. Everyone seems to be doing well. Santiago seriously looks younger than he did before. He has less wrinkles since he got baptized and he talks a lot more. It’s been really cool to see the change in him and I’m sure there’s more to come.
The other neat thing that happened was Stephen B. Allen came to the vc to give the sisters a training. He took us all around the vc and told was what each space was intended for and had us share ideas of how to use them. Then at the end he was talking about mission work in general and he said knocking doors was the worst thing we could do as missionaries. Then we were talking to the Zone leaders at dinner (they serve in the same ward as us) and apparently President Ellsworth passed what Elder Allen had said along in ZLC. It’ll be interesting to see what we end up doing because mission wide we’re in pretty desperate need for new investigators and sometimes we just don’t really know what to do besides knocking doors. Hna Lamb and I watched a clip from the district 1 where they threw a luau/church tour, and then I got a letter from Dad with a journal entry about a party they had at the church. So, we’ll probably try some stuff like that. We’re thinking about trying to get some block parties to happen in areas where we know there’s lots of Spanish speakers. Also when I was talking to the AP’s last night they challenged me to move my finding goal from 3 to 5 😮 the most Hna Lamb and I have ever had in a week is 2. So… yeah, I’ll have to up my faith this week, but I’m gonna do it.
I love you all lots, and I miss you lots.
Rachel
I thought about signing my email as Raquel but that’s Hna Lamb’s name, and she gets really weird about how it’s not the same name so, I tell her she has to call Joesph Smith by Joesph instead of Jose.
