Feliz Navidad

THANKS FOR THE CHRISTMAS PACKAGE!
So, yes mom I did get the package. I think the mission kept them all for a while to make sure everyone got something, but they finally gave them all out when we had our temple trip on Friday.
Friday was an interesting day. All morning was spent on the temple trip (I wanted to say it was spent in the temple but I got rushed in and out pretty quickly), then we worked at the visitor center, then we had our branch Christmas party. The branch Christmas party was so great. There was a great feeling of unity, everyone brought nonmember friends, and I got Hermana Fors to dance. What?! Shocking, I know, but now that I have read all of the white handbook I can now safely say there is nothing about dancing in it. Now the whole story… So, since we only cover one branch we’re present at every branch council meeting and the Christmas party has been their #1 concern for a while, and one of their concerns with the party is that at all the branch parties only the adults dance because they play salsa music. So, they decided to get some appropriate young people music for the party. Which turned out to be all the line dance music that you hear at stake dances when you’re 14. Well the night of the Christmas party rolled around and they started playing the music and at first the only person dancing was Moroni who is a super rad guy with some learning handicaps. So, then the young men in the ward joined in. We only have one young woman and she didn’t want to be the only one dancing so I told her if she went I’d go to. Anyways we ended up with all the teenagers, some of the primary kids, and Sis Fors and I (for 1 song) dancing and it was super great.

Anyways, the miracle for this week is that we had… wait for it…. get excited…. 7 INVESTIGATORS AT CHURCH!! What?!?! MIRACLE.

Unfortunately none of them were investigators with baptismal dates, so… looks like Ana is going to be our one and only this month.
Anywho, I’m doing really well. Finally getting over being sick although I still have a cough, and they’re finally taking care of the bug problem today. Sis Fors had a pretty rough week… she ended up on the bathroom counter crying after a nap the other day, and having a break down about where did her personality go and that sort of thing. This was the day before the temple trip and ward Christmas party both of which I think helped calm her down. I’ve been trying to be better and help out more. Also just trying to help her calm down and see that we can only do the best that we can do.
Anywho, I should be calling around 12 on Christmas and I wish I would have thought about coordinating with Rebekah so that maybe I could call her too. I will ask my mission pres and maybe we can figure something out.
Love and miss you all.
Talk to you soon.
RACHEL
