Well way to stink it up family, and not even email me. This email is probably going to be a little short because the Elders are huddled around trying to talk to us. I am not going to miss Elders let me tell you what. Anyways, I know I’m the worst email writer ever, but I for reals have no idea what happened this week.

  •  I was in the visitor center working at Christmas lights every night except for 2. My area is dying, because we never have time to find new investigators.
  • I am so tired. Do you want to know how tired I am? Prayers have become mini naps, everyone is quite, and well, my eyes are already closed. I feel asleep standing up in the visitor center, and had to catch my Book of Mormon. I also fell asleep while singing the closing hymn in sacrament meeting.
  • Our investigator Ramon (the one that I bullied into going to see the Joesph Smith movie) said he couldn’t come to church because he was building a casita (aka shrine) for the virgin.
  • No one but Oswaldo came to church, and he disappeared like a ninja after sacrament meeting. That wouldn’t be that upsetting except we had just specifically taught a lesson where I told Oswaldo all about how I received the revelation that I needed to go on a mission in the 3rd hour of church.
  • Members said they were going to pick up Eric for scouts and did not.
  • Another member said they were going to pick up Eric for church and did not.
  • Hna Watkins got three huge boxes from her family for Christmas, with a present for every day for the month of December. There’s lots of things like cake mix and foam trees to decorate. So, we have some treat making appointments set up for next week, and every single sister in the vc is getting a mini foam tree with stickers on it.
  • Hna Lamb showed up to visit. Pretty jealous of the fact that she’s skinny and wearing pants. Not jealous that everyone is bothering her about her dating life.
  • We painted prayer rocks with Oswaldo and his family.
  • I was part of the cutest bicycle gang ever when all the sisters in our zone biked to Lenny’s after zone training meeting. Hopefully I can find someone with the photo.
  • We made cookies for Dulce and Pascual, and put them in a bag that I hung on my bike handles. During our dinner appointment our bikes got sprayed by the sprinklers. The bag with the cookies was dripping wet, but miracle, the cookies were still dry, and we got to eat them with Dulce and Pascual in there new apartment.
  • Speaking of Dulce and Pascual’s new apartment it took forever to find, and when we finally got there it was time to start biking back to our other appointment so, we asked if they’d give us a ride. They said sure and even offered to take our bikes in the back. Our bikes definitely did not fit, but that was definitely not going to stop Pascual. He ended up tying the trunk partially shut with a computer cable while Hna Watkins and I sat in the middle holding on to our tires just in case. We ended up being 20 minutes late, but our investigator Mirna wasn’t there, and her son Eric said she hadn’t been there all night.

I’ve been really bummed out even though I’m having lots of fun with Hna Watkins. None of our investigators have sincere desires to follow Christ, and there’s just not a lot happening as far as our teaching. We had very little time to work out in our area this week, and next week will be even less… 13.5 hours to be exact, and that’s if all if all of our meetings get out on time.
Send letters if you love me,
Rachel
