Well, I don’t know what to say about this week. I have a ton of pictures I need to load but some how I ended up here without my camera and cord. Seriously, I’ve had the bag with my camera and stuff out for like 2 days already, because I’ve been planning on taking care of picture stuff.
Christmas was good. A little bit crazy. We didn’t end up doing any missionary work for like two days. Christmas lights ended last night which makes me happy. I’m super tired, and a little bit annoyed about pday stuff. Everyone else had their pday yesterday and then today there was a giant tri-zone activity. So, we have a pday partially eaten by an activity. We didn’t stay too long but my companion managed to sprain her ankle and she’s already been getting sick. I think I’m going to be mean and stick with what I told her at the beginning of the transfer, “We don’t take sick days. I’m dying.”
So, Sunday was really great because there were tons of people there. Not only were there tons of people there, but the Spanish Choir came and did their little Christmas program. Everyone loved it, and said they were going to come every week. We even had a guy, Augstin, that we had randomly met on the street the day before show up. I think mostly he’s interested in American girls and not so much the gospel, but it was still cool. We were also able to contact a referral we received from Christmas lights. It was for a guy who used to go to institute with the young single adults but since then he’s gotten married and fallen out of touch with them. Some of the people he used to hang out with live in our ward, and I think he’s going to love seeing them at church. His wife doesn’t really believe in God, but we were able to share the story of Aaron and the Lamanite king with her, and she’s willing to learn. We’re really excited to be teaching them, and hopefully they will come to church on Sunday. So, everyone pray for Jesus and Breanne. Especially that Breanne can get Sunday mornings off…
I’m sorry, I have a really bad headache and I can’t think of anything to say. I think I’m going to add my email to Hannah… because it’s not very personal and about as long as this email…
“I don’t know if there’s really a ‘best’ part of being a missionary. There are just days when everything goes well, and it feels great. Like on Sunday I was so happy that we had 5 investigators there I wanted to cry. Teaching lessons is fun, and just being out is fun. You ALWAYS feel the spirit which is amazing. It gets so you don’t even recognize it because he’s there all the time. I was surprised about a lot of things with the mission. It’s something you can’t really describe. I think the hardest thing about being a missionary is learning to enjoy what you’re doing. You’re going to miss home, naps, TV, Facebook, and your friends, but then when you really think about it you realize most of those things don’t matter. It’s weird that it’s new years because I spent the last year of my life being a missionary… I have no idea what to do with myself this year.”
Haha, Dad maybe you can get some canvases ready for me and I’ll finally get a portfolio together so I can get into a BFA program.
I love you all a lot, and I hope all is well.
