What’s the funniest thing that has happened lately?
Well last night our investigator Augustin (he’s the one who miraculously showed up to church last week) asked me and my ‘amiga’ out to dinner. It was pretty funny but I’m actually pretty stressed out about it. Augustin has meet with us about three times this week, and he’s always willing to go to whatever we invite him to. He doesn’t know how to read but he just started listening to the Book of Mormon on CD yesterday, and he loves it, or so we hope…. Hopefully it’s not that he just loves 20 something American girls.
Which investigator do you feel the most connected with? Do either of you have new investigators this week?
This week we found a few new investigators but most of them have already ditched us at least once. I think my favorite investigator is still Karim. We’ve been able to go over and read the Book of Mormon more regularly lately with the kids because Christmas lights is over.
What do you want most to accomplish in your last few weeks as a missionary?
I really just wanted to help a family accept the gospel in my last transfer, but it’s not looking so good. I’ve found 3 complete families where the parents are married and everything over the past month, but none of them have been sincerely interested.
I’m feeling a lot like Rebekah where I’m just sort of stuck. I’ve never been in an area this long, and I’m getting stuck in the same old ideas. This is also the first area I’ve ever had where I’ve completely failed to get the members excited about missionary work. The whole time I’ve been here I feel like I’m running up a never ending hill.
We had Zone training meeting this week, and they asked me to give my farewell testimony. That was a little bit traumatic. I guess I have less than a month now. I have no idea what I’m going to do with myself when I get back. Also a little traumatic.
I love you all a lot. I hope everything is going well, and I hope you’re all doing lots of missionary work at home.
love,
Rachel
