To stand in His place

Hey there,
This week me and sister Ramos were working on cultivating an attitude of positivity. As they say in the best two years, “we aint been havin’ much success.”  but we decided that despite it all if we are doing what we are supposed to that it is for a reason, and for our benefit. I  have to say I felt super great all week. TONS of things fell through “and door after door slammed in our faces.” but I felt awesome. I was like WOO another OYM another person we know isn’t ready yet! isn’t that great??

and then came the Sabbath… don don don! So nobody showed up to anything, surprising? eh, not really. But no worries I was still feeling good. Then we went and tried all our investigators in this specific area, nada. No worries. Then we decided to call Carmen (afraid of water lady) because we hadn’t seen her all week and she is very good about showing up to church, so we were pretty worried about her because she has a crazy husband. Anyways, we call her and she tells us that she got a job in the fields, and is working EVERY solitary day, and can’t meet with us anymore. And that was the point that the “pura vida” attitude flew out. My heart got rip out and trampled under foot.
So I proceeded to go about to the members and give them a piece of my mind. GOD IS FIRST. Period. always. End of discussion. OH, but if only that were the end of the discussion. haha I don’t know what I am going to do with these people sometimes. I love them to bits, but sometimes as sister Ramos always says “I wanna slap them in the face with a Book of Mormon.”
Funny story for ya. well more like story clip. We found this family who are apparently members (who knew? nobody..) but they haven’t been out for about two years. Anyways the mom is HILARIOUS. As her and I were making fun of sister Ramos and how she is a Cali driver she exclaims between laughter, “AY CHIWAWA!” I almost died! Sounds like something dad would say to be a dweeb. That’s also where I got matt’s intense birthday card.
well, Heavenly father knows us, he’s the best. I’ll continue to work on my positivity and what not. 🙂 I loooove the gospel. I love the people here, even the ones who sometimes i wanna slap.
You’re all the best, let’s send letters rather than emails when possible. thanks mucho!
CON TAN MUCHO AMOR,
Hna. Hannah Holladay
