A cornucopia of moral turpentine

Dear Family and Friends,

“Once upon a time there was a magical place where it never rained. The End. he he he.” -Mr Sir

That quote is in honor of the fact that this week we did a service project for a family where we were planting grape vines, you have to dig a very large hole, for such a small little plant. We took working in the vineyard literally. No worries, they were just table grapes. It was good for me to work out my noodle arms again, and I think I am a digging machine. I could totally work in the fields with my investigators. Cough.

Jorge is still on date for the 19th but only has until Saturday to be 100 percent off cigarettes and thus far hasn’t gone a single day without.

Luis hasn’t been able to attend church because he has been in some place in Oregon where he is trying to get his eyes fixed.

Naomi and her kids disappeared for the weekend, so they also didn’t attend church, and they haven’t been very great about reading lately.

I employed my writing ability while trying to help a member with some scholarship Applications. She is trying to get back up on her feet. It was rough trying to correct the writing of a very eccentric 50 yr old. I think we got them into decent shape, and I did my best to not change her voice into something I think sounds better (You’re welcome mom). She will be moving to live with her son in Portland this weekend, we are sad to see her go. She’s been through so much in her life, and really deserves a new start at life. I hope she gets the scholarships.

Yesterday we met this guy Davi, who is all about health. He talked about how churches should teach you  more how to take care of yourself and what things are good and bad for your bodies. Also he didn’t understand why each church could interpret the same book so many different ways. Why Davi, interesting you should bring that up…

Anyways I am really looking forward to this Pday, and hoping it will be nice and relaxing and full of some ultimate frisbee.

Life has been good. Hermana Jackson and I are thinking we should start running. Not going to lie, I need to whip my sorry self into shape again. Eventually I’m going to have to start worrying about that stuff again, also I don’t want to die. So let the running commence.

with love,

Hermana Holladay

PS. no mom questions have been submitted yet.
