This week has been loco coco. Monday was regular, we as a zone played a riveting game of Qwiddich, and I think I have found my new sport, because I owned everybody at that game. Tuesday: we had to drive to Othello TWICE to get the car damage estimated and then the man forgot to take pictures we also had district meeting, so by the time we got back we had a dinner appointment and the day was pretty much shot. Wednesday… nothing too significant happened except that we had to cancel exchanges for MLC. Thursday: I had to go down to Kennewick with a group of Elders and Hermana Larson for MLC (mission leadership council) which our Zone leaders told me about on Tuesday. We spent the night listening to this crazy Hermana talk all night and laugh at her own jokes. She’s about to go home. Friday: I sat in a meeting all day long. It was also Hermana Croft’s birthday so a lady from the ward made her a special meal and gave us both bath and body works lotion for our bdays. It was really nice. That day was also pretty shot. Saturday: that was a really good day and we had another birthday dinner with our most favorite part member family. They gave us bracelets in these crazy bags it was super sweet. They also made BOTH of our favorite birthday cakes. Sunday (my birthday): we had stake conference, nobody came. We taught a couple Less actives, then we dropped the only investigator that we have had on date, because he was doing absolutely nothing and essentially told us going to dances was more important to him than god. Then we ran into Carlos the miracle child who was on his way to beat somebody up. He then told us about everything he is mad about, and told us how his pastor told him that this life is not a test and that’s just something crazy the Mormons make up. Then he went and justified everything wrong that he loves to do. We did the best we could to teach him. And then I started to bawl like a baby for probably the third time on my mission. Happy birthday to me!!
I really would love it if people would understand how important this all is. That life is so much more than right now, and what pleases us right this second. I think that if only people could have a glimpse of their actual potential they MIGHT sort of get the picture.
On the bright side we have one investigator who is dying for us to teach her more about Joseph Smith she said as we were leaving, “this guy seems super interesting, could you come back later tonight to finish teaching me about him?” we couldn’t so we set up an appointment for Tuesday. She’s also living in sin right now with David. She’s cool.
People were super duper sweet to us all week about our birthdays. That was really nice, and helped us to feel all loved. Also I forgot on Thursday Hermana Croft was sick and we found a random less active as we knocked on a door and then she started to look super white and out of it. So I had her say a prayer and we left. Rather than get in the car though she stood by the fence with her hands on her knees and stared at the ground. So me being hilarious came over and said “whatcha lookin at?” She then threw up. So I drove her home made her drink water because she was just over heated and made some of the best stir fry known to man. And served it up to her and made her cookies. AKA I’m the nicest ever. 🙂
Well that was super random and probably made no sense.. But that’s all. LOVE YOU ALL,
Hermana Holladay
