April Showers

Familia and Amigos-

Transfers have come and gone. I am now serving with my new companion Hermana Correa. She’s the same height as me! She was born in Chile and moved to Florida when she was 9 and was discovered by the missionaries when she was 11 in Lindon, she now lives in Orem. She’s super funny and sometimes I laugh so hard I can’t even breathe. So you could say things are going well. I’m paying really close attention to her Spanish so maybe my Spanish will actually improve for the first time in forever.

On Wednesday we went to Hermiston to wait for our ride to Kennewick… the ride never showed up, so I got to drive Hna Jackson to Kennewick. Then I spent four hours of the day with my girl, Hna Robison. It was great! There’s always way too much to catch up on though, and I don’t even think we scratched the surface. Then I got hermana Correa we ate some Costa Vida, and headed back to Umathrilla. And by grace we somehow still have more than enough miles for the rest of the month.

Luis will be getting baptized Sunday at four o’clock 🙂 We are super proud of him, and excited for him. He came to stake conference after having worked 12 hrs and having no sleep. That’s dedication. We still have quite a bit to teach him, so I’m a little nervous about getting it all in. He sure likes to talk.

Teresa and Gustavo are actually getting married on the tenth so we are going to try and set up Teresa’s baptism for a week or two after that… They didn’t come to stake conference. Not sure what the excuse for that one was.  They are doing pretty well though.

Hermana Correa was pretty bold with Jorge last night, which was good, because I’m getting tired of spinning in the same circle with him. It’s time that actual effort needs to be put in. We love him… but he needs to just stop.
Brother Lougee is our ward mission leader. We are related. and he is just like Dad. He makes his family do weird things when they are on vacation (in fact we have done some of the same things), he wears similar clothing, he loves being a missionary… The only thing is he talks more. We decided our families can go on vacation that way dad and Brother Lougee can hang out and do whatever they want.

My pinky toe is rubbed raw… It’s driving me crazy! besides that I’m doing really well.

Love you all,
Hermana Holladay
Questions:
Remind me about Eric.  I kind of feel like I know your other investigators a bit, but not so much him.  It helps me to pray for them, if I feel like I know them.  Pictures would be awesome!
Eric is the man that we found and he acted like a crazy person and then called us the next day and needed to read the book of mormon, because he couldn’t stop thinking about it. I will do my best to take some pictures this week.. I’m terrible at taking pictures, until I get transferred.. I should repent
How long has your companion been out?
she’s been out for 9 months and she has 8 to go.
What would you tell the women in Lindon, if you had the opportunity to talk to them?  What would you tell them they should be doing?  What are they doing well?
I’d tell them to read “Preach My Gospel.” and “Being an Everyday Missionary.”  then to not be so hard on themselves because they’re awesome.
