“Being a missionary is like dating a bunch of people who won’t commit.”

Hey Family-
This is a picture of my ward mission Leader’s daughter the one who said the quote above (she also comes out with us faithfully), me, Brother Lougee (WML), and Jorge.:) We were eating root-beer floats after our lesson last night, so an obvious highlight to my world.
This week has been a very typical missionary week. Although we are sad because Luis is going out of town most of the week, and he is just the sweetest darn thing in the world. We taught him the word of wisdom, and he just drinks coffee and when I asked him if he would live it, he was like “yes! I’m sorry I didn’t know this was a rule before. I’ll start trying now.” Then he told us about how much he loves his grandchildren and how he can be around them without getting annoyed since he started learning about the gospel. He’s just such a funny man. Continue reading ““Being a missionary is like dating a bunch of people who won’t commit.””

Influenza

The Beautiful world-

So, I have never had a sick day on my mission…. until now! Tuesday AKA my last day in Moses Lake, Hermana Larson scratched her cornea because she  freaked out about dropping an eyelash in her eye. She also can’t just sit with one eye closed, she has to close both of them. So I was leading her around like a blind person, until it wasn’t bearable and we went home. Then I got her to Umatilla and my new comp  Hermana Jackson has the flu.
It’s been crazy and I’ll tell you right now there is not a whole lot  you can do to entertain yourself as a missionary. So I have gotten to know my companion really well. The bright side is she is LEGIT. We are havin’ a blast. Continue reading “Influenza”

Many are Called

Greetings Everybody,

Well another week come and gone. It was another lengthy one to say the least.

Every week things just seem to be blurrier and blurrier.

President Ware came to do interviews, I guess we can start there. He came and started out with “you have all felt my love at one time or another…” anyways it wasn’t very pretty. He sort of just destroyed us all with his words. Then each interview took AT LEAST 15 minutes. My companion and I had to do our interviews at the end, so we were there ALL DAY. Honestly I don’t think we left until six. Then when it came time for our interviews hna Larson got pulled in and then he said, “you know what Hermana Holladay, Elder Lee, Elder Cantrell come in here too.” So we went in and had a meeting that lasted about an hr in place of having an actual interview with him. Dang! I wanted an interview.

“I feel beautiful inside”

Family, Friends, others-

Well it’s another one of those weeks where I have nothing much to say. We were teaching our branch president’s daughter the Restoration (you do what priesthood asks) and when we asked her how it made her feel that Joseph Smith saw God and Jesus, she said, “I feel happy, and it makes me feel confident. I feel beautiful inside.” I thought it was one of the best ways to describe feeling the spirit. I’m serious if my investigators were half as spiritual as that eight year old girl, we would be having a lot more baptisms. Haha
