April Showers

Familia and Amigos-

Transfers have come and gone. I am now serving with my new companion Hermana Correa. She’s the same height as me! She was born in Chile and moved to Florida when she was 9 and was discovered by the missionaries when she was 11 in Lindon, she now lives in Orem. She’s super funny and sometimes I laugh so hard I can’t even breathe. So you could say things are going well. I’m paying really close attention to her Spanish so maybe my Spanish will actually improve for the first time in forever.

“Us hot babes have to stick together.” -Sister Carver

Everybody-

So we got transfer calls, I’m staying in Umatilla, and my new companion will be Hermana Correa, she went to Timp. High School, and her parents are from Chile. So it looks like I’ll have my second native speaking companion. Hermana Jackson and I are sad to split, but I think it’s always necessary at some point.

Gustavo and Teresa backed out of the wedding on Tuesday and it was SUPER dramatic. I wrote a list of things that we could do to help us be less stressed. These were our options:

La conferencia en general

Everybody-

First things first, HAPPY BIRTHDAY MATT!! you are a big 14 yr old now! oish.

As you all know the last two days were conference. Wasn’t that just joyous?  The cool things about conference that don’t have anything to do with amazing talks:

  • My old mission President, President Greer became an area 70. !!!!! WOW
  • They sang “Lead Kindly Light,” “A Child’s Prayer,” aand “I Stand all Amazed.” So they had very good song selection.
  • My choir director from the MTC was the one directing the Orem institute choir.
  • Whenever you watch conference you just feel so connected to the glorious world of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

A cornucopia of moral turpentine

Dear Family and Friends,

“Once upon a time there was a magical place where it never rained. The End. he he he.” -Mr Sir

That quote is in honor of the fact that this week we did a service project for a family where we were planting grape vines, you have to dig a very large hole, for such a small little plant. We took working in the vineyard literally. No worries, they were just table grapes. It was good for me to work out my noodle arms again, and I think I am a digging machine. I could totally work in the fields with my investigators. Cough.
