HI FAMILY,
The answers to the questions mom asked are as follows:
How old is Sister Robinson? She is Twenty years old as of January first. Still just a little guy like me.
What did you think of the big mission training meeting last night? Maybe it will help get some of your ward and stake leaders pushing to help you guys more.
I LOVED IT!! sister Robison cried through the whole thing. We also had Randy (investigator getting baptized next week) there with Steven (giant trying to quit smoking) and that was awesome. I can’t believe we are going to be able to use technology! (actually that’s a lie I wasn’t surprised by that at all) I think we are just going to welcome our new mission President in and be like “come my children here are your Ipads.” OH YA. No but it was really good, because we have been stressing a lot about trying to get a members more involved and I am praying that will get people going a bit. We will have to put a lot of work into it however.
Did you wonder what we were thinking while you watched it? I kept thinking about how you were somewhere listening and watching the same thing as us. Dad and I actually went to the actual meeting in the Marriott Center.
I’m really jealous of that. I did wonder if my awesome missionary family was watching.. but I figured you would have just been in the good old Lindon 200 S church. That’s way cool. It’s some exciting times. They also did a great job on those video segments.
So this week was pretty normal. We did all that good missionary stuff like knock on doors, and visit people and get rejected, and all that good stuff. One eventful thing was Carmen. As you know, she is afraid of the water, so I decided we were just going to pre-qualify her and see if there is something else that is holding her back from baptism. I have never had anyone be so sure about all of the baptismal questions before. and then we just talked to her some more and we were encouraging about how she IS ready to take this step. And she recommitted and we had her interview all set up for the next day.
Then, the next day came. We called her and she answered but wouldn’t talk. Then we came to her house and knocked at the door and no one answered. Eventually her phone would just go straight to voice mail. So yes, Carmen abandoned ship. I was pretty upset about it, but surprisingly not surprised. We talked to her a couple days later, and she just assured us that she wasn’t yet ready for baptism. It stinks, but there isn’t much we can do accept try to help her with her faith. I know that someday she will be baptized and accept this gospel, but for right now she will probably just be an eternigator.
Sister Robison and I are working on being better about time. When I first got here with sister Ramos no matter what I was ready to go on exactly the right time. Unfortunately I haven’t beent the best with that Since Hermana Robison got here, so we decided to fix in and so far we have two perfectly solid days of time keeping.
This is the Greers last week in the mission, and I think we will all miss them a lot. However, I’m excited to meet the Wares, and see what changes are about to take place in the mission field. It’s a great time to be a missionary. I love it a lot. 🙂
Sounds like everyone is doing well. Congrats on finishing the revision of your book Bek. Remember me when you’re famous!
Love you all,
Hermana Holladay
