Familia-
This week has been one of learning. I’m confident that the Lord has a very clear plan of what he needs us to learn before he puts us back into the world. I’ve learned a lot as a missionary, but my learning definitely wasn’t finished, and I don’t think it’s over yet. Sometimes the Lord sticks us into the fire when we think we need to be having a breezy time. I’m grateful that he still loves me enough to mold me into something different, something better. He truly is our loving Heavenly Father.
Let me tell you some of the fun things about the week now!
- President ware told us a story about a time he almost got arrested for setting off fireworks on his mission. (I knew there was a reason I liked that guy). He was in Japan on the fourth of July.
- Hermana Correa and I were asking each other random questions and she said, “Man, this is probably how it’s going to be when I’m dating someone else..” then I responded, “wait… we are dating?.. what?? you’re breaking up with me??” then we laughed.
- I took a video of a dancing, hitchhiking homeless man. 🙂 get excited.
- In relief society we were challenged to teach the Plan of Salvation to someone this week… so H. Correa leans over to Hermana Bazan and says, “if you come out with us this week we can all teach it together, three stones with one bird.” Then I burst out laughing.
- While I was translating, a child screamed some random phrase very loud, I don’t even know how long it took me to stop laughing and keep going with translation.
- Birds always poop on our car… always.
We met someone named Elva, who is going through so so much right now. We explained to her the role of Jesus Christ,
and how the gospel can really bless her life and her family, and can heal her. She seemed very interested, but
flaked out our second appointment. We are hoping to find her this week.
See you soon,
Hermana Holladay
