So, the mission is tough, but it’s worth it. There are so many things you have to learn, how to teach, how to create conversation with strangers out of thin air and relate it to something specific (The gospel), how to plan well and make good goals, how to organize activities, how to be selfless (That one’s hard), All the doctrine, a stronger testimony and much much more. Honestly I feel like I fail in many areas and I’m very much lacking as a missionary, but I’ve learned and continue to learn that God is perfect and that Jesus Christ paid the price for my imperfections, and they literally love me unconditionally no matter how many times I mess up (It’s a lot) they just help me keep chugging along and learning from my mistakes.
Not to mention you have to leave behind everything for the mission, your family, your hobbies, education, everything, but in the end it’s worth it, cuz I get to see miracles every single day. For any person I see who doesn’t believe in the gospel I think to myself, why do they think I did all of this? I came to Chile because I know that Jesus Christ is real. That he lived a life very much like my own in many ways, except that he was perfect, and he made it possible for me to feel the freedom of being cleansed from my sins. I’ve felt the weight and darkness that sin can cause, and then after that the actual difference that the Atonement and Repentance makes when applied. I have repented and I promise you that it actually heals you. There is nothing greater in the whole universe than the joy and peace that the Atonement can bring. Anybody who thinks I’m crazy because I believe that, just doesn’t understand cuz they haven’t really truly tried it out for themselves.
P.S. To learn from mistakes you have to make mistakes. #lifetricks
