Well, This week we have spent a lot of time cleaning up after that storm. On Saturday we and a bunch of men from the ward got together and cleaned up trees like no tomorrow. All I could think all day was “Man! I love Mormons!” I think it is so great that while mostly all of these men lost tons of crops in the storm, and had their own damage, they got together and went around serving other people. My arms are still pretty sore from throwing tree branches around. We did get some good OYMs out of the deal.
On Friday we had a lesson with a less active member named Jordan, she just had a baby and has been living with her less than promising boyfriend of two years. We love Jordan she is a sweet girl, and at least knows that the church is good. She told us she has been toying with the idea of leaving her boyfriend and going back to live with her mom. We showed her a video of president Uchtdorf entitled “Our Divine Potential” (you should youtube it) It tells the story of the ugly duckling and that we are all in a way the ugly duckling and can amount to so much more if we let ourselves. While we were watching the video it came so strong into my mind “Let her know how much I love her, and that I will help her make this decision.” So I did, I testified of God’s love specifically for her and that he would help her through anything and that she can be so much more than what this life can give her. Then Hermana Croft testified. I asked her to pray, and she did and we just saw tears silently sliding down her cheeks. It’s in lessons like those, where you know you did your part, by just relaying to them what the Lord needs them to know. I pray that she will make the best decision. 🙂
So I had one week off of training 🙂 aaand president called me and asked if I would train again. So apparently heavenly father really needs me to learn the eight fundamentals of missionary work, and also have “The District” DVDs memorized. Anyways, that basically means that I have another guaranteed three months in Warden. And Hermana Croft will be going to Quincy to be with Hermana Williams (my MTC comp). AAANNNND drum role please! Pasco North stake will be added into the zone!! so that means HERMANA ROBISON and I get to go on exchanges in BASIN CITY!! I’m so pumped!! The only thing is that now I have 6 exchanges in one transfer… I think that’s… a ton. But we will figure it out.
The Church is true, the Lord is Merciful. I love you all.
