Amber Fort and Jaipur

    We got on the bus we reserved from Agra to Jaipur.  It wasn’t as nice as we thought it would be (stupid service fees)—and it took forever to get there and this guy made us switch seats (we’re not sure why, but in retrospect we think it was to move us away from the group of guys in the back of the bus) so we waited and waited and waited and made to Jaipur at 11pm.  Continue reading “Amber Fort and Jaipur”

“Being a missionary is like dating a bunch of people who won’t commit.”

Hey Family-
This is a picture of my ward mission Leader’s daughter the one who said the quote above (she also comes out with us faithfully), me, Brother Lougee (WML), and Jorge.:) We were eating root-beer floats after our lesson last night, so an obvious highlight to my world.
This week has been a very typical missionary week. Although we are sad because Luis is going out of town most of the week, and he is just the sweetest darn thing in the world. We taught him the word of wisdom, and he just drinks coffee and when I asked him if he would live it, he was like “yes! I’m sorry I didn’t know this was a rule before. I’ll start trying now.” Then he told us about how much he loves his grandchildren and how he can be around them without getting annoyed since he started learning about the gospel. Taj Mahal

34 hours on the train.

Yeah.  That was definitely an event.

I got really peeved when people kept passing by our seats/beds and pulling back the curtains we’d closed.  One time this guy lifted the curtain up and was looking in and I said (in my head) “Oh, no, you didn’t!” and pulled the curtain out of his hand.
