Mexico to Caye Caulker

Getting out of Mexico was a nightmare! From all the reading and asking I did, I figured they were going to charge a $20 exit fee when we tried to leave the country. Also, from all the reading and asking I did, I knew we did not have to pay said $20. Anyway, to make a long story short, we ended up paying the bogus fee and took a long bus ride down to Belize City where we caught a water taxi out to Caye Caulker. Caye is pronounced “key” in case you were wondering. Continue reading “Mexico to Caye Caulker”

Teotihuacan

Today we went to see the ruins at Teotihuacan, comonly referred to here as the pyramids. Ale rode a bus to our hotel and picked us a little after 8 AM. We then rode a city bus to the main terminal where we caught a tour bus out to the site. The site is huge! We hiked up the pyramid of the sun, which is the largest on the site, and is really quite impressive. Continue reading “Teotihuacan”

Day two Mexico City

Alé Falcon (one of Rachels comps) lives in Mexico City. Her father met us at the airport. He took us to a roadside cafe where we could order Tacos al Pastor. They were delicious. Alé met us at the restaurant and then took us around the city. We saw the castle where a former president lived. We also took a tour of a museum. Finally we went to our hotel. It was much smaller than I expected, but we had no trouble falling asleep, because we were so tired from the trip. Continue reading “Day two Mexico City”

Central America Trip

To celebrate the return of Rachel and Rebekah from their missions, we are taking a trip to Central America. We will leave on Monday March 11th, and return Tuesday March 26th. We’ll be traveling by bus and staying in inexpensive hotels/hostels. Below is a map of the places we’ll be visiting. My plan is to write about the trip each evening, but we’ll see how it goes.

Here am I send me

Hola mi familia,
This week.. woooo eee. I don’t even remember anything before Sunday, so I suppose we should begin there. Sunday was the last day for Elder Warner (from London)  in our district and he has been in New York ever since Monday. It’s crazy that he is already in the field. It was an emotional day for the district because one it was Sunday, two it marked the beginning of our last week, and three Elder Warner was leaving. However we became spiritually edified like you wouldn’t believe. We had an incredible district meeting where everyone shared their experiences with faith. For our Sunday night video we watched a talk from Elder Holland, I swear nobody is able to get me more excited about the gospel than that man. He has more passion in his little pinky finger then most people have in their entire being. I listened to him and I was so pumped and ready to tell every single person I have ever seen about the gospel. Then one of my sweet new sisters came in as we were about to leave for the night, sobbing, and in need of a blessing, the Elders luckily hadn’t gotten far and were able to give her a blessing of comfort and she was doing much better.
