The Really Big Beach

Questions First
Do people usually stay in Belize until they go home, or is it possible you will get sent back to El Salvador?
Yes, I will go back to El Salvador at least to have the last hoopla dinner before we go home.  I actually found out today that there aren’t transfers in March, so I think I’m going home at the end of February after all…  I should probably ask President, but I don’t wanna sound like I’m baggy…  There is a slight chance I might go back to train in El Salvador, but it’s very likely I will finish my mission in Belize because of the paperwork that goes into getting people here they usually plan to keep us here a while.

Halo!

To all the people I used to know.

OK, well my birthday was a success. I got three different kinds of cake, and I got pizza with my favorite senior couple! Your package did get here on time so THANKS! I also got a little something something from Angie, and Aunt Rosie. The day after I wore the skirt mom sent and earrings from Angie, and I was going to take a photo, but then… I didn’t. My birthday really was great, and it was really sweet because Hna Noble was really worried about it being awesome. All week I got away with just about everything, because it was my birthday. All week. She’s also the one who set up the dinner with the Livingstons. We also had a miracle that day and we’re able to get two new investigators… actually, it was a miracle week because we found 10. Yesss. There’s soo many Spanish speakers in this area it’s crazy. I could go tracting and it would be effective. I’m not even kidding right now.  Continue reading “Halo!”

It was Interesting

Well, we just had what we as missionaries like to call a big… “machete.”  Ouch.  My first District Leader said one time that the old mission President, Pte Lopez, when he macheted he macheted with a dull blade, so you FELT it when he macheted you, but when Pte Cordon machetes you, you don’t know what’s happening until a moment later you see your head’s on the floor. It cooled down just to heat up again

I’m not sure what to say about my first couple of days in Liahona 1st I haven’t been able to spend as much time out working as I would like. Between the VC and weekly planning I really haven’t gotten to do much. I have been working on my street contacting skills, because Sis Noble isn’t quite confident enough in her Spanish yet to be very bold with talking to everyone, and like I said before EVERYONE is Hispanic in this area. The Bricenos and Many False Prophets

Yay!!  The Briceno family got baptized! 😀  Richard didn’t show up.  He said he forgot, but we don’t know if maybe he was just discouraged or if he literally forgot…  So he will be baptized this Saturday.  (He is Bro David and Ana Briceno’s fifteen-year-old son).  That was pretty disappointing, especially since I’ve never had problems with people turning back on their baptisms up until these last two changes.  But hopefully it is for the better this way, because now we can repent and bring that family that we said we would bring to the Briceno baptism but we actually… didn’t bring… and they were waiting for us…  It was kind of a nightmare baptism because we weren’t sure they would be able to be baptized until the day before (because they had to have a second baptismal interview in which President had to decide whether or not they could baptize) and well… we as missionaries just don’t have time apart to plan baptisms and we’re expected to keep lessons up all day everyday so…

tropical storms and stuff

Well, another interesting week as always.  We put baptismal dates with the Briceno family, and we went back to teach the Nino family again, and they look a lot more positive than they did before, but they have some big problems in that their daughter is angry with her father and hasn’t talked to him for a long time so he feels uncomfortable in church.  We also got another sister, Sister Joselin, to finally go to church this week… now we just have to figure out why she doesn’t want to get married when she already has two kids and her companion treats her really well and loves her a lot (he’s an activating member) so I don’t understand why… not?
