Semana 5

Sorry for not writing yesterday. We had a Holiday here in Chile for one of the saints and the Library (Where we get to write for free!) was closed so we had to wait an extra day to write. This week has been pretty cool. We did drop a lot of our investigators who weren’t progressing and we felt would continue to not progress, and we’ve already found a few new investigators who are amazing and very close to gold, but a quick word about one of our older investigators. Joaquin who is 17 finally prayed, and he now believes in God, which is a huge step in the right direction. He never got around to it which I honestly understand, my prayers up until my mission kind of sucked and it’s because I never felt the need to really put effort into it, I just did it because I was supposed to.

By the way I had some really cool experiences with prayers being answered this week. On Tuesday we had an intercambio with our sister missionary training leaders, and I haven’t been sleeping really well the last few weeks, and my feet have been really cold even though I use 3 blankets and a fleece sleeping bag, so I decided to ask that me and my companion for the day as well as my trainer and her companion could all sleep well and be warm. Lo and behold it came to pass that we all slept well except for hnas. Aros and Steed who were in the next room over (who I sadly forgot to pray for ): who were freezing that night. The other thing happened on Thursday. We found a new investigator who’s name is Danitsa and I’ve never heard that name before and for some reason could not remember it so I asked my companion like three times to remind me what it was. Then when I was praying I was trying to mention all of the investigators from that day and again I couldn’t remember so I was like ok well God you know who I’m thinking of and was about to continue when I had this crazy idea. God gives knowledge unto those that ask especially if it’s for a good cause. I figured since she´s an investigator I should remember her name and that would help the work of the Lord so I asked him to help me remember the name. He did because I paused for about 2 seconds just listening knowing with all my heart and faith that he would answer and her name came clearly into my mind. It was flippin legit. So please use faith when you pray because he is listening as long as you actually talk to him and believe and listen he will answer.

Questions
We can’t go to concepcion anymore to shop but there are a couple of shops here in Santa Juana and a couple in San Pedro if we need something we can’t find here. There’s this Chinese store here that is so cute and they have the randomest things. It´s kind of like shopping in the dollar store but better quality and more expensive stuff. It’s kind of tempting to buy everything and window shop for hours. We email in the library where we can use the internet and print up to 5 papers for free.
Funny stuff for the week. My companion has officially broken three chairs. She is seriously just unlucky. I wasn’t there for the first one, but I heard she was just leaning to grab something and it broke. The second one she fell on my first night here and the third one we were just sitting there watching the district and the chair fell apart underneath her. My most spiritual moment has got to be when I prayed this week.
Our branch mission leader is Hno. Jorge Peña who does seriously everything for us. We have a correlation meeting every week where we tell him the needs of our investigators and he helps us try to meet them and if we can’t find a street we call him up and if it’s real he’ll find it for us and every once in awhile he even comes to lessons with us.
