^^ that’s the list of things we came up with that happened that week. So, I guess I will start at the beginning.

Jose So, on Saturday we were really determined to find new investigators and we were doing a really good job of talking to everyone, but as soon as we get in the car to go somewhere else all of a sudden talking to everyone gets a little bit harder. So we were driving from a trailer park to an apartment complex when we saw an older man walking slowly and carrying a couple of bags of groceries. We decided to help him out, so we parked the car, ran across a busy street, and then tried to casually speed walk to catch up with him. He accepted our help and started to tell us all about how he had almost died in a car crash the day before. He claimed he had been thrown through a windshield… it seemed a little far fetched because there wasn’t a single mark on him, but we went with it. Then he talked a lot about his ex wife. He talked about how beautiful she was and how he still didn’t know why they’d gotten divorced. Then he asked if we’d ever been married and how old we were. He then informed us that he was married when he was 21. Throughout the conversation he’d interrupt to ask us the same question, “You ever been married before?” Imagine this from an old guy who’s lacking in teeth with a really heavy Mexican accent.  When we got to his house he told us we could come over whenever we want and that his mom had been a saint who always made him go to church but he stopped going after she died. Due to the amount of beer cans in the yard, and the way he smelled, we decided to teach him about the word of wisdom. He kept interrupting during the conversation to ask random questions like what our names were, and then in response to Hermana+apellido he yelled, “No! Your real name!” Hna Noble told him hers, and we kept going. It took a little bit of work but we taught the word of wisdom and committed him to living it and coming to church the next day. He told us he was going to get cleaned up and looking nice for church and everything. We said we’d swing by in the morning to make sure he was on track for making it there.

The next day…. We stopped by Jose’s around 10:30 am. It was interesting because while we were in the car saying a prayer I forgot his name for a second. Afterwards I asked Hna Noble if she thought I forgot his name because we weren’t supposed to go over. She said, no, that I was just forgetful – which is true. Jose was still in the same spot we had left him, but now he had friends with him, and he was even more talkative than before. He also refused to talk to us in Spanish and kept yelling at us in English, which was even more difficult to understand than his Spanish. We tried talking to him about church but he kept demanding to know if we had been married before; particularly Hna Noble. After she told him no she’d never been married before for about the 5th time he yelled something along the lines of, “No tienes el cuerpo de una nina!” He also started calling her by her first name and when she wouldn’t respond he said, “Maria! I know your name!” Then comes the best part. “Quieres carsarte conmigo?” When she said no, I received a back up proposal but I declined due to being second choice.

He never did make it to church.

Lorena was the miracle to all of our running around on Saturday. It was the end of the night approximately 8:47 and we were going to stop by a less active family to set up an appointment when we saw a family sitting out in there driveway. We pulled over to give them an invitation to the next ward party. We couldn’t get close because they had a fence around their yard and the only adult outside was an older lady who couldn’t hear us. So she sent her granddaughter over to talk to us. We started chatting with her and she asked if we had Sunday school classes. We said yes, and also explained a little bit about mutual. We asked if she had any friends at school who were Mormon. She said that she had lots and then, and I have to direct quote this because it was so awesome, “I’ve always wanted to be Mormon.” Well, we can help you with that. Anyways we are going to stop by on Saturday and we’re really praying that her parents will be open to learning as well.

Chat. Alright so, whenever we’re on chat we get lots of Anti Mormons and Trolls. Trolls are people who log on to ask dumb questions and waste time. The usuals are, “Why don’t Mormons eat chocolate on Tuesdays?” “Why don’t you believe in magnets?” and “How do magnets work?” Anyways, we got a new one yesterday. He started off by telling us he had a question about the gold plates. He then told us how much weight gold weighs per cubic foot – 1,204 lbs. Then asked how did Joesph Smith lift the gold plates. Usually we’d just respond with something about how we don’t know everything and we just need to have faith, or try to get them to talk about their religious background – which never works, and trying to find out his didn’t work either, and I really didn’t want to take the faith route this time. So, we told him to hold his horses and we’d find an answer. This is the article we found What did the golden plates look like? SCHOOLED!

Church. Well we weren’t sure who would come to church this week especially because we were going to be in the VC during our ward meetings, but Dulce, Pascual, and Adan all came. Adan even brought a friend with him. We unfortunately don’t know who Adan’s friend was because when we stopped by to ask him about how church had been he was drinking. Word of Wisdom lesson to come soon. When we followed up with Dulce and Pascual they seemed really excited and we tried to set a baptismal date with them but they wouldn’t commit. So we taught them the Law of Chastity and invited them to pray about a date to get baptized/married. They seem really open to everything especially Pascual which is really exciting because we thought he was going to be the hard one.

Also several investigators from my old areas are getting baptized. Including JASON AND PAULO (Carmen’s kids) Also Rodigo, Edgar, and Jose. Awesome

Love you, and I’m way overtime!
