Hi there-Well I’ll have to say that this week flew by! not only the week but the whole month of November kind of just decided not to exist this year. October straight into December.
We taught seminary this week, and as it turns out none of the sr. boys are planning on going on missions. What’s up with that?? We taught about Jarom and Omni, so it was pretty eventful as you may imagine.
On Thursday we had thanksgiving. We ate with the Hughes family. They invited his mother over to eat with them, and she is not a member of the church. Bro. Hughes and his mother got into some heated discussion about the church, as it seems she has been reading some anti-mormon literature. To try to “find out” what he believes. (because that’s always a great idea to go to the internet about religion). Any ways I broke in half way through and did some smooth smoothing over and tied in the Restoration like a good little missionary. But it actually did help them to simmer a bit. The meal they fed us was delicious! almost as good as home. Then we went around and did a couple less-active visits, because no one else really wants to let us in. We had a white thanksgiving, but it didn’t snow, it just frosted real nice.
Rosi texted us on thanksgiving and said how grateful she is for us, and then she told us she has been studying about the word of Wisdom and baptism and how she is starting to feel something really special. Her 12 yr old boy is now getting pretty excited about the church, because one of his best friends is a member. His name is Michael, Mike, Mikey, take your pick. (she also came to church but her husband copped out because he didn’t have pants. So she said she was going to buy him a pair this week so he has no excuse).
I had exchanges with Hermana Smith and she saw some guy walking down the street and she was like “is that Marcelino?” so naturally we followed him for a second and got out where we would conveniently meet him. Turns out it WAS Marcelino…… Just not the one she was thinking of. He went on for about 20 minutes about a car accident as we are freezing.. But we will probably go teach him soon, and he’ll get baptized.
I just typed out the most pointless bit of information… and then decided to erase it.
This week has been really good. We got to see the Whitakers and they have missed 2 Sundays in a row and will be missing next week. Canyen (the eight year old) got pretty upset about it. WHICH is awesome. Sister Whitaker was also wearing footie jammie-jams that were leopard with hot pink trim.. and thus she officially became my favorite. We also found out we have chicken pox scars in the same place so now she calls me “chicken pal” 🙂 Jeff (bro Whitaker) will be 50 pretty soon, and he thinks it’s the end of the world.
I have also found the love of my life. AKA I want to be his mother. So I told you about how the Safrans were adopting a little 2 yr old boy, right? Well I love him so much. Every time I see him he puts his hands up for me to hold him and then gets really sad when we say no. He does this little pouty face and sighs really loud. He’s soooo cute. He is a tiny little black boy and he has these bright colored eyes, and little curly hair. Yes, it’s true I want him for my own.
Well LOVE YOU,
Hermana Holladay
Questions:
What is your favorite hymn at the moment?
Probably always lead kindly light.
Is Lucy still progressing? Is Rosi still planning to be baptized for Christmas?
Lucy is through Enos and her and Luiz are now planning to get married.
we think so with rosi. we need to firm the date though.

Who is the funniest sister in your mission? Who is the most serious?
Mom… I’m in the mission, that’s not even a question 😉
Most serious is definitely Sister Smith the one I went on exchanges with. She’s a good missionary though, sometimes I’m like JUST LAUGH. Only in my head though.
