This week went well. Not too much happened but we’re working on getting a good groove and we had a crazy lesson with Martin. So, basically his dad is a little difficult and he distracts the theme of the lesson a lot and I lost my cool and started bashing with him a little. Then as I was getting kind of chata and trying to shut up so that I wouldn’t impede the spirit anymore Hna. Horton did the coolest thing. She allowed a small pause and said I have a question for you guys. “Martin would you like to get baptized?” He said, “Yes!” (During the confusion of the lesson he had shared his testimony with his parents) Then she asked his parents if that was ok with them and they were both like yeah that’s fine if it’s really what he wants to do. It was amazing how strong the spirit was. Before we left I wanted to fix my mistakes so I told them I was sorry and they were kind of like “What? No it’s totally fine no se preocupe!” They were honestly amazing. Since then Martin came to church and when we dropped him off at home his dad showed off his parakeets to us. It’s kind of funny but sometimes the most difficult seeming people are actually pretty amazing.
I have a small favor to ask of you guys. If you could send me exercise ideas that I could maybe print out from Pinterest or something else cuz my morning exercise kind of sucks and I wanna fix it but I’m out of ideas. Also, does anybody know a way to send me music possibly using google or something, cuz I don’t really have much. The only requirements for us is that it be spiritually uplifting and doesn’t dull our senses.

Is it in the mountains, near the ocean, or somewhere in between?
So I’m in Arauco which is right by the beach.
Do people go swimming in the summer or is the water too cold?
I’m not sure because it’s winter now, but my companion says that they do.
Do people go there for vacations?
I believe so…
Is it different than the other areas you’ve served?
Most of my areas have been pretty peaceful little towns so this one isn’t too different.
Branch or Ward? Average Sunday attendance? What is the ward/branch like?
It’s a Branch. It’s pretty big considering all of my branches and the ward that I’ve already been in here the members are really loving. They usually have about 30-50 people at church I think.
Where is your companion from? What is she like?
Hna. Horton is from Sandy Utah. She’s got some really good logic, and she’s great at helping me feel motivated to work hard and be healthy. 🙂
How long has she been in that area?
She’s been here about 5 months, so she’ll probably be leaving when we have transfers
City or more country area? Are you in a big city, or small town?
So it’s more of a large town I guess you could say. It takes about 45 minutes to cross on foot I think, but I’m not sure cuz I haven’t crossed it yet.
What do most people do for work there?
Most people work at this factory called Arauco Celulosa. I’m not sure what they do but from what I understand they make different things out of wood.
