So–I guess I’m staying in Sensunapan for one more cambio! 🙂 Which I’m happy about because I want to stay with Hna Estrada, but I sure hope… I get to go the next cambio. We’re going to be here through the hottest part of summer and I’ve been waking up at night because it’s so hot. I’m kindof happy about staying… but I hope the rest of my mission I get transferred like every one or 2 cambios because it’s more exciting that way. Sensunapan is kind of an odd area because a lot of people start and finish here and stay for six months… like me…
So I actually took some pictures of our pasajes but I don’t know what on earth happened to them. So… yeah. Guess I’ll have to do that again. The photos I’m sending we took this morning in our Sonsonate (our zone) jerseys in front of a Kindergarten. They paint all their kindergarten schools. The third pic is of me and Stephanie and Sariah Martinez. Stephanie, on the right I think, is Irvin’s ex-girlfriend. Um. I bought a cd for photos but Carlos misunderstood what we wanted and put all of Hna Estrada’s photos on one cd instead of on mine.
Irvin’s doing really good. He wants to serve a mission. Which makes me really happy. We’re planning to baptize his younger sister Zuleyma the 26th of Feb.
And I’m not gonna lie we’re still having a really rough time finding positive investigators. I really want to change the pace of Sensunapan, because I was looking at the past numbers and there were only like 16 baptisms in the whole area in the past year. And the majority of the people who baptized are inactive. So, we really need to work with the ward because that’s what’s going to make a difference in the work, and I want to leave Sensunapan better than we found it.
We had a kid in sacrament yesterday which made me really happy. Her name is Paty (Patricia) and she’s twelve. She used to bother me a lot my first cambio here, so that’s how I know her… is because she sat in front of our door and bugged us, and she always asks us to buy papusas for her. She’s infamous. I really think if she could get baptized it would help other people because she’s so well known for being a terror… which she’s really not that bad, especially recently since we started teaching her. She wanted to go to church because she wants to go to girl’s camp… so we’ll see if she can gain a testimony.
Man, it’s a real shame that we haven’t gotten families that are positive. Like Paty’s mom… and Irvin’s mom… if the whole family would just progress together everything would be so much better for everyone…
I’m glad to hear Rosie’s all right. And I’m excited to get the package! Wahoo!!
Love,
Bek
Questions:
Have you gotten your Valentine’s packages?
Not yet. I found out from a date on one of my dear elder letters that it takes about 2 wks for me to get a letter. And sometimes I get like 8 letters at a time… So, I don’t understand the mail. I’m sure it’s coming. Haven’t had problems getting anything yet. Hna Estrada still doesn’t know I have her ring. Mwhaha. (I’m going to give it to her on her bday).
Are all of the missionaries in your missions about the same age, or is there a variety of ages among the young men and young women who are serving?
Yep. Elder Diaz who goes home in a couple days is 26. There are two sisters here who are 28. Hna Estrada is 23. The majority are 19-23.
What’s your favorite color?
Red.
What phrase do you use most when your speaking Spanish?
Personally? No se… De verdad or Puchika or como?
What type of music are you allowed to listen to in your specific mission?
I guess anything because they haven’t said… but my mission president is strict. We have an hour less of pday than other missions and 45 min to write.
