So the picture is of celebrating Abril birthdays at home, and though you can’t read it, it says, “Hermano Holladay” on there (I think it’s because the Elder didn’t want to try and write out Matthew).
We also did free medical services things, and some crazy boss lady had the bad idea of making me one of the people who writes peoples names and directions down… man, I don’t think I’m ever going to get used to Salvadorian names…mostly the last names are really crazy… I don’t have any idea what people are saying…
I might put a subject title, but then I might forget to write about the subject again like I did the last time.
HERMANA EDITH AND ABIGAIL ARE GETTING BAPTIZED!!! And so is our ward mission leader’s dad! If everything goes well it will be the 28th of April, so please pray for Edith, Abigail, and Adan. I’m kind of nervous about Adan because he’s an eternal investigator… and eternal investigators… have the tendency to back out of baptism…
Dayana’s date fell because her husband doesn’t wanna marry her. He made lots of excuses about it and stuff, about how he’s going to marry her on her birthday and when “she”‘s more prepared for baptism and when he’s more “prepared” to go back to church, but it’s all excuses. He doesn’t want to commit to her. I’m trying not to be angry…but sometimes charity is really hard.
I was really surprised when Hna Ediht said yes… Abigail said she would before and then her mom like glared her down and was like, “You have to change if you get baptized.” So yesterday Ediht said yes, and Abigail said no… but she changed her mind with hardly any persuasion because she wants to do it, and kids are just braver than parents, let’s be honest. I really believe any kid, especially any little girl, would be baptized if their parents would.
I was worried about Hna Ediht because she was like, I want to feel good in church like I have in the lessons, but she hates guys shaking her hand, and of course all the guys come and shake her hand… that’s how we’re friendly, and I was watching her face the whole time like, “No… no… no…” But she said she felt good and she commited to the 28th!!
FINALLY!!! Even though I didn’t teach them that long I still feel like I helped a lot with them so I’m really happy.
Questions:
It looks like there is lightening along with the rain in El Salvador. Is that the case, and if so is it at all dangerous? Has the rainy season been any cooler than it was before?
Yeah the rain just started, it’s actually really REALLY hot (for candelaria… which is not hot compared to sensunapan) before it rains here. It’s better when it’s raining or before, but recently it’s just been perfect cloudy weather. Yeah lightening, but nothing close.
Has your favorite scripture changed?
Dunno. Psalms 23 still, I guess. I like all the missionary scrips in the BOM these days too.
