Sorry about not writing last week. I feel like a ton of stuff has happened in the last couple weeks with my new comp, Hna Villatoro. She is finishing her mission the 15th of January (the day Hannah starts!!! Yay!!) And so my last companion will be the only one who will still be here in the mission when I go home.

creative contacting
The McLaughlins challenged us to look for a new way to contact someone–to come up with a fun story this week of a contact we’d done… so this is the story that we shared:

The Book of Mormon
Well, I guess I’ve thought more about my spiritual experiences on the mission since Dad asked me, and when I was thinking about it… there are lots of moments when we testify of things and we feel the spirit testifying that they are true–but the times that I have most felt that–more than anything else–is when I’ve testified of the Book of Mormon.

The Minute He Died
Something always seems to happen when I am about to start writing and then all of a sudden I don’t feel like writing anymore… Not at all. I feel terrible. I only have two transfers left.

A Wedding & Two Baptisms
Aw man… I was trying to think of things to write but I forgot again… I admit I was kind of freaking out when they announced that 19-yr-olds can serve missions now because I know that Hannah will be gone by the time I get home. I think James will be too. 🙂 Which is pretty AWESOME it’s just gonna make going home even weirder… And to answer Dad’s question… no… still don’t know when I’m going home…I was thinking it was the beginning of February because that’s what some Elders said, but I found out that Sis Ellis is going home and the transfers of January are about 15th of January so I will be going home probably about the middle/end of February after all. Not sure. But if you guys aren’t comin to get me you don’t need to know when I finish. I’ll just SURPRISE everyone when I come home…

two families got wet
So… YAY!!! THE ORELLANAS AND THE GUERRAS GOT BAPTIZED!!
I think the Orellana family was the most-taught investigators that I’ve had that actually got baptized. I think it was a little over two months, maybe three that we were teaching them and they finally got baptized! 🙂 I really thought we were going to drop them because Brother Orellana got drunk two Sundays in a row so I thought he wasn’t going to do what he had to do to stop, and I was worried about Sister Orellana because she didn’t seem to understand one true church because she kept going to this other church… But after they were married, you could see and feel a huge difference in them.
the wild bush
Well, I also don’t feel that much like writing, eh? That’s why I uploaded photos to send so it wouldn’t be so boring.Unfortunately the send button has mysteriously stopped working… I guess I’ll have to borrow sis Duarte’s computer to send this in a bit. Continue reading “the wild bush”
Try not to sleep….
We just have had lots of weird weeks. We still write on Tuesdays, it’s just that last week the Asisstents came so they went over in our Zone meeting and so we wrote with Elder Zepeda on Wednesday instead of Tuesday since that was the day he was visiting with us.
