Well… I don’t know why I just don’t feel like writing these days anymore… I just like reading the letters from other people more so I haven’t been stressing about using my time to write and then when I finish reading I have like 10 minutes left at the most… Now I have like five…
Well, about that drunk guy. We were teaching Brother Alejandro, who has a baptismal date for the 29th of this month, and we were teaching with Sister Smith when all of a sudden we hear a shout, “HEEEEEEEEEEEEY!!!” And there’s this way-too-happy-drunk man outside Hno Alejandro’s door (most people in C.A. leave their doors open because it’s so HOT) and he comes in the house and puts his arm over Sister Smith and says, “Wow! How are you!? I haven’t seen you for a long time! And when I saw you I was like, PUCHIKA! [dang it!]. We’ve known each other since, ooooh! A long time!”
It was pretty funny because he just kept talking and talking and we were just finishing up our lesson with Bro. Alejandro and Bro. Samuel and finally I was seeing that Sis. Smith was getting a little uncomfortable even though she was laughing, so I kept saying, “All right, Brother, we’ll come visit you sometime soon. Adios.” (That’s what I always say to get away from people, “we’ll come visit you some other time”). But it wasn’t working, so I said, “All right, we have to go. Is it all right if we have a prayer?”
So we prayed and got up to go and then the drunk says, “WAIT! Now I’m going to pray!” So we were like… OK… and we sat back down and he started praying, and he started crying in his prayer asking for forgiveness, poor guy.
We’ll have to go back and visit him sometime. Sis. Smith says she’s never seen him drunk like that before.
OK… I’m sorry. I will write first thing next week so I have more time. But please pray for Bro. Antonio Orellano because he has a drinking problem also and we’re trying to get him and his wife and kids ready for baptism. Also Bro. Ben, Shanaya and Aldo Escobar….
Love,
ME!
