I decided to repent

“And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry…Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.” (1 Timothy 1:12, 16)
“For some are already turned aside after Satan.” (1 Timothy 5:15)
“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;
Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,” (2 Timothy 1:7-9)

I decided to repent and write the family letter before I only have fifteen more minutes of time…  I must say I’m really worried about baptisms in December, but I’m going to do everything that I can to help the families that went to church to get baptized this month… but it’s looking like it’s going to be quite a challenge.

Please pray for the Lopez and Cruz families… because it just looks like a challenge… a BIG challenge…  The Cruz family believes a lot of Jehovah’s Witnesses apostasy, and the Lopez family… have a HUGE challenge with the sabbath day.
Also, please pray for Sister Ana Briceno… because her faith is being tested right now because she is having a hard time accepting the Book of Mormon all of a sudden.
Hna Duarte is now in El Salvador, and she will be going home on Thursday.  She will be released on Saturday after a training for missionaries that C.A. does (to talk about scholarships and things..)
I’m still in Belmopan.  My new companion is Sister Villatoro.  She has been here in Belize for a year and this is also her last transfer. She is from Guatemala and is fluent in English and a great missionary–so hopefully we will have a lot of success this month.  We’ve got faith and hope.
I can’t ever seem to satisfy hunger… I’m so hungry all the time.
This last Sunday was pretty much exactly the same as last Sunday… I was praying and praying that SOMEONE would just show up in church… we invited the Lopez family to come because they promised three weeks ago that they would come in three weeks, because we visited them again and started talking about the second coming–and we invited them to church and they said no no, sometime, and so I said, “Is it that you’re ready for when Jesus Christ comes?”  Sister Ernestina started laughing at first but then she really seemed to think about it and her laughter kind of died away and she said, “Well, maybe not quite ready yet…”
So I was shocked when she and the kids showed up on Sunday.  We taught them about six months ago shortly after we got to Belmopan and they’ve always had this problem of Sundays, but they went and liked it… now we just have to get them to understand the Restoration of the Sabbath day and baptism…
Well, love you all!  Thank you always for the letters!
Bek
p.s. I think they changed my return date to March 7th because they switched the transfer times… I didn’t really understand what they told me because I was pretty much asleep when I talked with the Elder form El Salvador on the phone.
