I love your stinking guts.

So, I apologize for last week’s boring letter.  I was having a really bad day.  I got a little discouraged because we’ve had two months without baptisms and really, almost nothing of success in that time.  I’ve literally taught hundreds of people in the 5 months we’ve been here… Well, maybe not taught, but we’ve at least contacted hundreds, and we’ve been dropped by a ton of people, and we’ve had to drop a ton of people that we’ve found and we had a lot of hope for them… and that’s just life.  There isn’t time to waste.

And I’m feeling better because even though Zuli’s baptism fell through, we have a young girl that used to bother me and I’ve wanted to teach the whole time I’ve been here, and she wouldn’t let us at first, but she went to church three times and the last time she even brought herself to church because she wasn’t ready when one of the members went to get her.  Anyways, I’m feeling really positive about her.  We taught her lesson one the other day and she wanted to go with us to our other appointments after her, so she tagged along with us and she actually helped in our lesson with an old lady who is separated from her granddaughters right now because her daughter-in-law (who we were teaching) ran away with the girls because her pareja… not spouse… partner… wouldn’t marry her and I think she just got tired of him cheating on her…  But anyways, Paty (the girl) told her she should pray with a sincere heart and God will help her to feel better and see her grandchildren again, and she wanted to know why we didn’t give her a Book of Mormon after the lesson…
So basically, even though her mom is not going to progress in the church, I think this kid has enough to be an independent member, and she’s pretty inspiring.  I really hope she can get a testimony and baptize this month.  It was kind of miraculous how we started teaching her, but I really need to get off, because I’m going overtime, but remind me next week I need to tell you about the guy with Revelations and why Paty started listening to our lessons.
Sorry I was going to tell funnies for Hannah, but outa time…

Questions:

How come no one wrote yesterday?

We spent the whole day in Santa Ana.  That was a nightmare.  The bus is a nightmare.  There was a kid literally hanging on for dear life because he couldn’t cram in for the first like 10 min after he got in.
How is Sister Estrada’s health and how is Sister Falcon?
Well, she has problems with her eyes and so we bought clear sunglasses for her (they look like normal glasses).  She has arthritis in her muscles and apparently that’s also why her neck and back have been hurting a lot…  And she started blowing her nose after we were returning from the doctors and there was blood in it so we’re going to be resting today and I will have to do divisions tonight which scares me to death…

What is your favorite thing to get in the mail?

Mangoes.  Don’t know.  I got my package and I basically died of joy.  Hna Estrada can barely keep her hands off the mangoes too.  We’ve almost eaten them all in this week.  We’re cool like that.

If you could have any wish and I were a genie to grant it, what would you wish for?

Magic carpet ride with Aladdin.  Of course!!!!  And 15 baptisms in one cambio….
Love,
Bekah
