How do I know that? The ingrato didn’t tell me of course, but Sister Alcerro who was in Sensunapan told me. I was really worried about Irvin and Edward (a couple of my converts in Sensunapan) and I asked her about them because she had been there for a long time. Irvin always said he wanted to serve a mission when the time came, but I didn’t know if he’d ever done anything to go since I left Sensunapan… I guess he was inactive for a time, but then Sis Alcerro and her comp came and visited once and he came back to church.
I guess he’ll be going on his mission soon, but I don’t know when or where or anything…Ingrato.
Oh well. He’ll hear from me shortly enough.
That’s the best news I’ve received in a long time, because apparently Edward’s disappeared off the face of the earth since his baby died… So he will also be hearing from me shortly… hopefully I can find a way to communicate with him…
People wonder how you’re doing when you’re about to finish your mission–and the truth is–I’m not really afraid of anything at home other than… slowing down in my progression. I just want to do what Bishop Elsey told me to do when I go home–he told me I should get to my mission already running–and that’s what I want to do when I go home. Get there running. And–running in this case doesn’t mean running away it means–never stop.
One thing I’ve learned is that the mission work is not a 18 or 24 month period. We’re disciples for life. Because “we know that it is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do.” (2 Nephi 25:23). So I guess I’m afraid of knowing how to do the same things in the world where there are a lot more distractions… I’ve still got a long way to go I think.
Our investigators are doing all right. I’m really worried about Sister Sandra Perez because she’s about to the point of dropping us because she is tired of the stress it causes her. (her parents-in-law are the pastors of the church that is in front of their house–they live in the same house as her parents-in-law).Olga is also having a hard time–I don’t know if I told you Austin (her member boyfriend) decided to separate from her because he didn’t know if he wants to marry her just yet. She told us she was thinking about “giving the whole thing up” but that she prayed and she just wants more time… so I’m hoping that more time will be the 9th of February.
It’s my goal to leave baptismal dates for March for Sister Lopez and her new comp.We are also working with Sonia Frazer. Her mother died a couple weeks ago. She’s 16. And also the Espot family… tell you more next week.Love you all, thanks for the prayers and support!
