So my first week in Warden has come to a solid close. Yeehaw. Lemme tell you what’s going on. Well Hermana Croft and I did a good amount of trying to figure out what we were doing (kinda feels like we got doubled in). We are getting a few more things going, but tomorrow we were supposed to have a training meeting that got switched to the next week. So we have absolutely nothing planned. I hate days like that.
So we have this sign right as you enter Warden that states “this is a gang free community” and then has “gangs” with a circle crossed out. Ya, that made me laugh. So all of our investigators are a bunch of mangsters (mexican gangsters) pretty much I love them. One is Manuel he is about thirty and a couple weeks back he told Hnas Croft and Earl “so.. You’re probably wondering why I wasn’t at church yesterday, well, I got stabbed.” So that was a new one for me. He is also in the process of overcoming like every addiction known to man. I think if he gets through this all he is going to be sooo good. I’m really excited about him. He also wants to be baptized, but we have a long way to go with that one.
Like the Basin People chalk us full of vegetables and fruit I’m going to attach a photo of the new companion and a pile of cucumbers that we are now trying to pawn off on the other missionaries.
Now one thing that has been happening a lot lately is people yell at us how they are Christians and then slam the door in our faces. All I can think is “how very Christ like of you.” Sheesh. The irony.
So lemme tell you about the new comp. Her name is Hermana Sydney Croft. We get along pretty well, she’s a sweet little thing. Her Spanish is excellent and the best part is she doesn’t snore! yeehaw I’m going to sleep like a baby. She is the oldest of four kids and is from Scottsdale Arizona. She is going to major in finance and wants to do micro loans in central america. She also doesn’t have as good of taste in music as Hermana Robison, but that’s ok because we aren’t allowed real music anyways.
Well I want to thank you for sending my Levis and that cute new shirt. I love it mucho mucho. 🙂 Really though! probably my new favorite shirt.
Lots of love,
Hermana Holladay
PS I’m super happy! So don’t worry about this guy.
