Hi Family,
It’s been a crazy crazy week. As usual we taught the gospel, ate lots of food, went on exchanges, oh ya something kind of different happened on Saturday.
Saturday, like half way through the day we get a couple voice messages from president telling us to call him back. Cool I was thinking “Oh, it’s probably about that weird mini missionary thing we are doing.” So we try to call the man back and his wife answers and tells us he isn’t in a meeting. We then get like ten text messages from the zone leaders all in jumbled up order. The first one said “congratulations Hermana Holladay on your new assignment, we will miss you here in Pasco.” And then we went through panicking all the text messages. One thing led to another and I’m here in Warden. Yeup. I can’t even express how upset I was about all of this, but Elder Gray was a sweet sweet angel and allotted us an extra 100 miles, so I went around all day and took pictures and said goodbye to everyone as I tried to be strong and not cry. I missed sister Inglima but I texted her a lot and she was crying and making me almost cry. Then Carmen I just had to call her because she was in Pasco all day. It was rough. The members and the investigators in Basin City are amazing. I miss and love them so much.
Well here in Warden my new companion is Hermana Croft she is 20 and turns 21 two days before I turn 20 (aka the 6th and the eighth). She seems super sweet, thus far we have gotten along well she has only been in the field for 5 weeks, so if I thought I was going to be done with the stinking training program, think again! She’s new and I don’t know the area, so we can just say that yesterday was a long day.
You might be inquiring as to the reason of these emergency transfers, well and inappropriate note was sent, and here we are. I wonder if people ever think of the consequence of their actions, it affected 4 missionaries, and many other people. I kind of want to punch that guy. But I don’t think that is what Jesus would do, so I’m working on developing my charity. Besides I’m sure that the Lord has something super amazing in store for me and sister Croft, and hopefully Hermana Robison and Earl will make some miracles happen with the loves of my life back in Basin.
Warden is very similar to Basin City, but a more populated junkier version of it. We live right by an onion field so I think that the smell is going to start soaking into my bones. There are just piles and piles of trash everywhere, and it is just a nasty little place. I also forgot to buy a pillow….. Dang it all. It’s kind of cool though, it just needs a lot of elbow grease, the owners/ missionaries have kind of just let it go. I’ll get it in ship shape soon enough though.
Well I guess now is the time to switch to different investigators to highlight. I think I’ll probably just do that next week since we only taught one person and I can’t remember his name for the life of me. He was pretty awesome though I’m a big fan. Pray that we figure out what to do. I’m looking forward to the new opportunity the Lord has given me, even if it was a big surprise to be taken out of my first area 4 weeks ahead of time. I know that it is for a reason. So I’m happy 🙂
Also I came to a car that is already to the mile limit. So pray for the mile fairy to come save us! Thanks so much 🙂
Love you all a lot,
Hermana Holladay
