Sensunapan… month 6

So–I guess I’m staying in Sensunapan for one more cambio! 🙂  Which I’m happy about because I want to stay with Hna Estrada, but I sure hope… I get to go the next cambio.  We’re going to be here through the hottest part of summer and I’ve been waking up at night because it’s so hot.  I’m kindof happy about staying… but I hope the rest of my mission I get transferred like every one or 2 cambios because it’s more exciting that way.  Sensunapan is kind of an odd area because a lot of people start and finish here and stay for six months… like me… Continue reading “Sensunapan… month 6”

FAMILIA!

Rachel is your Spanish improving with your new companion?
Uh? Probably? I can’t really tell to be honest. The members in the branch say I’m getting better because now when they ask how my Spanish is I say, “Mal.” And apparently before I couldn’t even understand that. Yeah, I’m a genius. Continue reading “FAMILIA!”

This is the End…

Dearest most adoring family mine,

Yeah, don’t know why I put that title, just felt like it.  I might be outa Sensunapan in a couple weeks when the cambios roll around again, but we’ll see.  It would be pretty sad for me if I did go and Familia Cano got baptized… but I really don’t know with these crazy people that won’t exercise more faith in each other. wassup peeps

I really can’t think of anything to say this week. Dad will be pleased to hear I am currently attempting to burn you all a cd with pictures. Um… Well it was my first real transfer this week. My new comp Hna Falcon speaks Spanish ALLL the time. I also live with 2 other native speakers, over by the temple. They moved us permanently out of the White’s house (where the bed bugs live in the walls) and moved Elders in. Continue reading “wassup peeps”

Sensunapan: January

Dear Family,
It’s been interesting.  I can’t always remember the questions or what I have and haven’t told you… but to answer Aunt Margene’s question, no, I actually don’t get a lot of attention for being a Gringa (north American)…  And actually, my hair is not that unusual.  There are quite a few people with naturally blond hair here, they usually have like olive skin, but there are also a lot of people with skin naturally whiter than mine, and a lot of people with light green eyes, and, I even met someone with dark green eyes–which I didn’t think was possible, but it’s true–far away they look brown, but when your in front of him you can see they’re a mesh of green and brown and only look green up close. Not Gonna Lie…

Dear Family,

I’m not gonna lie.  I think the only time I’ve been really angry is on pdays when I’m trying to write people.  REALLY angry right now…  The internet won’t work for 10 minutes and it takes like 15 minutes to copy photos onto my thumb drive and 10 minutes to upload a picture on here and I need to send President a photo and I’m mad at him for cutting our time to write down when we need to do things like read his emails and send him photos of our converts.

Grrr. Continue reading “Not Gonna Lie…”

Feliz Navidad

THANKS FOR THE CHRISTMAS PACKAGE!
So, yes mom I did get the package. I think the mission kept them all for a while to make sure everyone got something, but they finally gave them all out when we had our temple trip on Friday.
Friday was an interesting day. All morning was spent on the temple trip (I wanted to say it was spent in the temple but I got rushed in and out pretty quickly), then we worked at the visitor center, then we had our branch Christmas party. The branch Christmas party was so great. There was a great feeling of unity, Continue reading “Feliz Navidad”
