Well, I also don’t feel that much like writing, eh? That’s why I uploaded photos to send so it wouldn’t be so boring.Unfortunately the send button has mysteriously stopped working… I guess I’ll have to borrow sis Duarte’s computer to send this in a bit.
We’ve been having a really hard time taking care of all the people that we have and finding new people (like always). And of course we’re always really worried about our recent converts… who need a lot of help always. Like Sister Ana Briceno… she keeps having things come up sunday morning and she hasn’t been to church in about a month. But the Orellana family got married, and Brother Orellana hasn’t been drinking. They’re getting ready to be baptized this Saturday along with the Guerra family. I don’t know if I told you about Karen and Peter? Well, I think they might be one of the reasons me and Sis Duarte have been getting bad fleas again…
Oh yes. Sis McLaughlin (the senior missionary) told me that what I have is either flea bites or spider bites for sure. It’s not a heat rash… Which I’m not really sure where the fleas are coming from… I think Belmopan we teach in more dirty areas than I did in El Salvador since my areas were often more city… well, more or less… but Karen and Peter are dirt poor… and they live way out in the wild bush… It’s quite fun to go visit them when it’s been raining. I’ve never been so very muddy in all my life.
One of the good things about being in an area for a really long time is that we get a second chance with investigators sometimes. For example, one investigator that we were never really able to find and visit, has just come back to church and so we are going to try and help him out… and both me and Sis Duarte have been thinking about Sister Tamara. I believe we were teaching her in our first change, but we had to stop because she wouldn’t answer the door when we came over sometimes… and she only came to church once and never again… but I would really lie to help her… She had been praying the day before we came that she could find a church, and that night she had a dream sitting a church and feeling good… and the first time she came to church she said she knew it was the true church and she downloaded hymns off the Internet and everything…
Just don’t really want to leave it at that…
Apparently there are statistics that people usually listen to the gospel are approached by missionaries like 3 or 4 times before they accept the Gospel… so as Elder McLaughlin said… better get those 3 or 4 times out of the way as soon as possible…
Love,
Hermana Holladay
