Nely and Jonny finally came to church together. They say they’re going to finish the house soon and Jonny is working on it with pretty much all of his spare time, so hopefully he’ll be proposing to her soon so we can get the extensive legal marriage process started. Then comes baptism! 🙂
Sadly we don’t have many new investigators and most of the ones we do have don’t do their commitments to read the scriptures or come to church and stuff. We’re working on it though. We’re trying to visit old investigators that the missionaries in the past stopped visiting, because a lot of times they’re really receptive and ready to hear the gospel. We don’t get lots of opportunities to serve cuz people here don’t really accept help normally unless they’re exhausted or something.

We walk about 7 miles every day. We don’t really take the bus here in tolhuaca unless we have an activity or multizone conference because all of our zone meetings and such are held in the chapel in victoria. I’ve been told that at times we take taxis to get home on time if we have a late lesson, but I still haven’t experienced that.

We visited a non-active member this week whose name is Alejandra. Her life is prettymuch a Spanish Soap Opera. She’s married, but separated, and she had this boyfriend who she wanted to marry and he said he wanted to marry her too, but then he kept sending her mixed signals and causing grief cuz he’s not mormon and he wanted her to move in with him before marrying her even though she explained that as a member of the church she wants to keep the commandments like not commiting adultery. She wanted us to tell her if she should break up with him or continue seeing him, because she trusts us 100% and would be willing to do whatever we tell her to. Which is crazy to me cuz we’re not even 20 years old and she’s over 40, but we asked if she’d prayed about it. She said no cuz she felt guilty about the relationship considering that she’s still married. We told her to pray and ask God what is best for her and then to act on whatever answer she got. A few days later when we visited her she’d broken up with him and I’ve never seen her so happy before. She’s like ready for a fresh new start. Now we just gotta get her to come to church.

Wish us luck here in tolhuaca! 🙂
