April Birthdays, and Service
So the picture is of celebrating Abril birthdays at home, and though you can’t read it, it says, “Hermano Holladay” on there (I think it’s because the Elder didn’t want to try and write out Matthew). Continue reading “April Birthdays, and Service”
Banjo Hymns = a good time had by all
So, I think I mentioned before that mission wide we’ve been lacking in new investigators and that the AP’s challenged Hna Lamb and I to find 5 last week. Well we totally did. MIRACLE.
Palm Reading
Well, I’m gonna try and send a couple pictures and write fast, because I keep accidentally… taking way too long to do email. We only do forty-five minutes supposedly, but all the missionaries do it longer, and so… that makes it harder to have self-control when other people are taking too long.

Knocking Doors
Hola Familia!
Not much to report this week. Mostly we just worked at the Easter Pageant. I finally took some pictures for you but I forgot to bring the cord for the camera. Fail. We did have a couple of investigators come to the Easter Pageant which was really cool. Ana came with a lady in the ward, and Daniela came with our ward mission leader’s wife and her two daughters. Ana is getting baptized this Saturday 🙂 She’s really excited about it and we made sure to give her invitations so she can invite her friends and family. Please pray for us and her, because we still need to teach her all the commandments besides the word of wisdom :O
I hope they call me on a mission…
I’m sorry my letters have been boring lately. I get tired of writing
week after week and not being able to tell about someone getting
baptized… I took the Christ Attributes test in Preach my Gospel,
and I scored everything up. The only area I got an F in was
Patience… and I got like a D in hope… So, I guess that tells me
where I need to improve in my Christlike qualities… Don’t really
want to admit to anything else about that test, but I only got like an
A in Humility (how does that even work?).

Easter Pageant
I got my package on Saturday. The package of peeps is currently sitting open out on my desk so they can get dried out just enough to the perfect texture. Thanks guys. Ha, and I tried to send Rebekah a package last week but it just got sent back to me. So, I’ll try again, but no promises. The united states postal service and I are developing quite the love hate relationship here on the mission.

Easter
Hello Familia!
You will all be happy to see pictures from BAPTISMS!! So, I already told you about Edwin who is still awesome, and 11. I also think I’ve told you about Santiago before. When I was in Mesagrande Hna Falcon and I taught him the first 3 lessons, most of the commandments, and he got most of the way through 2 Nephi, but he would never commit to a date. Anyways, he finally committed to a date and he was baptized this weekend. Hna Lamb wasn’t feeling well so I went with Hna Tejada. It was really fun being back in Mesagrande, and really neat seeing someone else get baptized in that area. The work there is slow. Anyways, Hna Falcon told me that when Santiago was getting his confirmation blessing he was promised he’d get to bring members of his family into the church, and that he’d be able to help and be an example for his grand kids. He also received the Aronic priesthood and he’s really excited to do the work for his son that passed away. Before he told me that when he would read the scriptures he’d read 2 pages for himself and then 2 more for his son.

Sensunapan… Adios.
Zuleyma didn’t get baptized. She changed her mind at the last minute again. And Paty told Stephanie (a girl in our ward who has visited her with us sometimes) that she wanted to get baptized after all. I’m really not sure what to believe about Paty. I think she is partially motivated to go to church for the right reasons, but she is also asking people things and I think her main interest in the church is to go to Girl’s Camp. Sadly her Mom and Grandma, who wanted us to teach her, have all the sudden become angry enemies of the church… So hopefully some day in the future Paty can get baptized…

funny story…
So, you know that inspiring story I told you all last week about Paty? Yeah… she dropped us. Investigators are kind of like revelation. Really confusing. And you pretty much never know who’s going to be positive and who isn’t the first visit or two, and then the persons you think are positive throw you for a loop when they decide to reject something for some reason randomly.
